Côte d’Ivoire Eploration Projects

The Mbengué Project

Manas has entered into an earn-in agreement for up to 70% ownership in the Mbengué Gold Project in Côte d’Ivoire, West Africa. The Mbengué Permit is held by Occidental Gold SARL, a 100% owned subsidiary of Perseus Mining Limited.

The Mbengué Permit is located in north-central Côte D’Ivoire approximately 8km west of Randgold Resources’ Tongon mine and 90km southeast of Perseus’s Sissingué mine and covers an area just under 400km2 over the highly prospective Senoufo greenstone belt (Figure 1).

Perseus has undertaken an extensive regional exploration programme across the Mbengué Permit and identified a number of soil anomalies which have had follow-up auger, air core and reverse circulation drilling. Included in the results from this drilling was the discovery hole for the K1 prospect (MKRC079) which had a total mineralised intersection of 69m at 7.8 grams per tonne gold.

The earn-in agreement over the strategically located Mbengué Gold Project provides an opportunity for the Company to rapidly accelerate exploration activities in Côte d’Ivoire.

Manas will commence diamond drilling of the highlly prospective K1 prospect to verify previous drilling results and to develop an understanding of the structural setting.

A number of significant intercepts generated, including hole MKRC079 with 28m at 8.1 g/t Au and 25m at 4.0 g/t Au ending in mineralisation

The Eburnea Project

The Eburnea Project is located in central-northeast Côte d’Ivoire, 30km northwest of the city of Bouaké and approximately 290km north of Abidjan.

Manas has entered into an option agreement to acquire the rights to any future permits granted to Eburnea Gold Resources Sarl covering the Bouaké Sud area located immediately south of the Company’s Bouaké Nord permit application in Côte d’Ivoire, West Africa (Figure 2). Location of the Bouaké Nord permit application is outlined in blue and Bouaké Sud Option Area is outlined in red.

The Project lies along the southern extension of the Hounde greenstone belt, which is host to several major gold deposits in neighbouring Burkina Faso. The northeast-tending greenstone belt is dominated by volcanic and volcaniclastic rocks, generally of basaltic-andesitic composition, intruded by granitic plutons.

There are currently no identified gold deposits or any documented previous exploration within the Eburnea Project, however several artisanal prospects have been identified. Surface geochemistry and follow-up aircore drilling to the immediate north and south of the Project has highlighted extensive gold anomalism and zones of significant bedrock mineralisation.

The Bouaké Sud Option Area is partially covered by forest reserve, which currently restricts exploration activities. The Option Rights provide Manas the opportunity to secure this area should this situation change in the future.

Collectively the Bouaké north and south applications cover an area of approximately 800km2 over the highly prospective Hounde greenstone belt.

The Project area lies along the southern extension of the Hounde greenstone belt, which is host to several major gold deposits in neighbouring Burkina Faso. The northeast-tending greenstone belt is dominated by volcanic and volcaniclastic rocks, generally of basaltic-andesitic composition, intruded by granitic plutons of variable composition.

The Gonsan Project

Three exploration permit applications by local partner Gonsan Resources Sarl, covering a combined area of approximately 1,000km2. The Project is located approximately 700km west-northwest of Côte d’Ivoire’s capital city of Abidjan near the border with Liberia, and surrounds Endeavour Mining’s established 2.9Moz Ity gold mining operation. The gold mineralisation at Ity is described as several orogenic deposits of skarn (Au-Cu-Mo-Ag-W) and shear zone hosted (Au-As-(Sb)) styles of mineralisation.

The Gonsan Project area is prospective for the discovery of further gold mineralisation associated with skarn development in the volcano-sedimentary contact zones around diorite and granodiorite intrusives and mineralisation associated with shear zones in the northeast-tending greenstone belt.

Manas’ initial focus of exploration will be on the northern portion of the Project area, as well as along interpreted northeast-trending structural zones and secondary shears.
